In a blog post on the official Mass Effect website, Mass Effect: Andromeda is confirmed for a North American release on March 21st, 2017 and March 23rd, 2017 for Europe. It will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
In just under 3 months before its release, Mass Effect: Andromeda was without an official release date, leading some to believe it would miss its initial ‘Early 2017’ window it had stated in earlier press releases.
An extended trailer was shown at The Video Game Awards (The VGAs) in December of 2016, where gameplay was shown for the first time. Fan reactions were overall positive, however some noted animation problems regarding facial expressions of main protagonist Sara Ryder. Aaron Flynn, General Manager of BioWare, has noted this issue over his Twitter, stating those issues will be addressed.
This will be EA’s and BioWare’s first release for the Mass Effect franchise since 2012, where Mass Effect 3 released to critical claim.
